Description
Make plans to attend the 2025 STS Advocacy Conference. During this 2-day event, held March 3-4, STS members will meet with members of Congress and their staff to help influence healthcare policy and champion causes important to CT surgeons and their patients. Attendees will receive training for their meetings and opportunities to engage with STS leadership.
Twenty scholarships will be available for senior cardiothoracic surgery residents and early career surgeon attendees.
Attendance and scholarships are available only to STS members who reside in the United States.

3 - 7:30 p.m.: Training & Welcome Reception
Day 2 – March 4, 2025
8 - 9 a.m.: Breakfast
9 a.m. - 5 p.m.: Legislator Meetings
Scholarships
Members are invited to apply for a scholarship to travel to the STS Advocacy Conference. Scholarships will cover reasonable travel, hotel, and meal expenses (2 days/1 night). Preference will be given to applicants who are Resident/Fellow or early career Surgeon Members. Applications are due Monday, Dec. 16, 2024.
Registration
By registering, you are confirming you will be available March 3-4, 2025, in Washington, DC for the entirety of the conference, including the full day of meetings on March 4 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. ET. There is no cost to register, however costs related to travel, lodging, and meals are the responsibility of each participant. STS will cover all costs related to official activities.
Housing
STS has secured a block at the Royal Sonesta Hotel (20 Massachusetts Avenue NW, Washington, DC). The room rate is $399 and will be available until Monday, Feb. 10, 2025, on a first-come, first-served basis.
